Installing appctl

To install appctl, download the appropriate binary for your operating system and processor architecture. Then rename the file to appctl and save the file in path of your operating system.

Linux

Windows

The following sections shows how to install appctl from command line in Linux or Mac OSX.

Using wget
32 bit
wget -O appctl https://cdn.appscode.com/binaries/appctl/0.8.3/appctl-os-386 \
  && chmod +x appctl \
  && sudo mv appctl /usr/local/bin/
64 bit
wget -O appctl https://cdn.appscode.com/binaries/appctl/0.8.3/appctl-os-amd64 \
  && chmod +x appctl \
  && sudo mv appctl /usr/local/bin/

Depending on your user level, you may have to use sudo. To verify successful installation, run appctl version.

Using curl
32 bit
curl -Lo appctl https://cdn.appscode.com/binaries/appctl/0.8.3/appctl-os-386 \
  && chmod +x appctl \
  && sudo mv appctl /usr/local/bin/
64 bit
curl -Lo appctl https://cdn.appscode.com/binaries/appctl/0.8.3/appctl-os-amd64 \
  && chmod +x appctl \
  && sudo mv appctl /usr/local/bin/

Depending on your user level, you may have to use sudo. To verify successful installation, run appctl version.

Setup appctl

Once appctl is installed, log into AppsCode using the following command

appctl login

Upgrading appctl

To upgrade appctl, run the following command

appctl upgrade
